Tea Dueling

Behind the Cotton Building

Steampunk Tea Dueling is a noble and ancient(ish) sport which originated in Great Britain where it was given the name Tiffin Party.  It requires audience participation, honour, biscuits, and piping hot tea. Excited on-lookers should cheer the victor and point out infractions or instances of cheating to the wise and patient referee, known as the Tiffin Master.

The clear and rigorous game rules include 2 opponents simultaneously dipping their biscuit into tea cups, then holding said soggy biscuit until just before it crumbles, popping it into one’s mouth as a satisfying Nom.  If the biscuit crumbles to the floor, table, or one’s opponent, then one has lost.  If both Dunkers secure a clear Nom, then the last opponent to do so is the winner.

The sport requires nerves of steel, focus of mind, and a steady hand.

Participants may earn points for their Faction with their victory. The number of winners in each Faction contributes to their victories tallied throughout the Festival.  Come out, display your skill, and score one for your team.

Then finish your tea.
