Only a few decades ago, the Dirigible Colossus, the most luxurious airship that ever took to the skies, was forced down and plundered by pirates working from Port Townsend. The raid was decried as the most audacious act of piracy on the Western Coast - quite impressive!
The doomed sky captain and crew knew nothing of the region's tradition for piracy, both by sea and air. Captain James McFeary released passengers and drew unharmed but stripped everything of value including a trunk of gold bars, coins, and gemstones. Legend holds that as the Pirate Captain made good his escape, the captain of the Dirigible Colossus fired a disguised cannon, taking down the pirates' ship - and the chest of treasure with it! Over the years, these gold bars, coins, and gemstones periodically wash ashore on the waterfront of Port Townsend.
Younglings and adventures are encouraged to join Brass Screw Consortium on a quest for these old-time treasures and a chance to be rewarded with more pirate booty. But beware! Rumor has it that some of those pirates still lurk in the city in hopes of recovering their lost riches.
Keep your nerf weapons ready as you seek the treasure. Who knows what perilous adventures lie ahead?
