Saturday at Key City Public Theatre

The Theatre is at (419 Washington St).

11am-noon - The World at War: 100 Years Later with Steve Bailey and Jonathan Garrigues.   A frank discussion of what led up to WWI just 100 years ago, and what actually went on. It wasn't all trenches and submarines!

noon-1pm - The State of Steampunk with Diana Vick.   Find out where Steampunk has been and where it is going in this presentation by Diana Vick, Grande Dame of Seattle Steampunk!

1-2pm - Steam Sherlock with John Longenbaugh and James Romnes. They lead a discussion in the very modern, and somewhat out-of-place and even science-fiction (now science fact) attributes of Sherlock Holmes techniques, methodology and general mind-set throughout the canon, as well as the film versions of Sherlock Holmes adventures.

2-3:30pm - Victorian and Edwardian Machine Guns with Robert Odekirk, Stewart Marshall and Gordon Frye.    See how these machine-guns developed from the end of the Civil War to just after WWI, with actual pieces displayed and discussed.

3:30-5pm - Girl Genius Radio Theatre, with Phil and Kaya Foglio and the Faculty of Transylvania Polygnostic University! Hear the trials and tribulations of Agatha Heterodyne and the denizens of Mechanicsville!

5-6pm - Master Payne's Magic Show, featuring none other than Master Payne!

11am-noon - Shaving with Robert Odekirk.    Ever wondered how those spiffy Victorians managed to look so good with only a cut-throat razor to artistically arrange their whiskers without risking their tonsils? Come find out!

noon-1pm - League of Steam   This year's film festival features a veritable cornucopia of short but wacky adventures featuring the oddest group of ghost hunters to strap on an ectoplasmic disruptor.

1-2pm - Foundations of Steampunk Costuming with Nancy Frye and Alexis Garrigues. An in-depth discussion of how to go about building your Steampunk wardrobe from the ground up, using actual Victorian principles to do so. Find out about how THEY did it, so you can get the proper silhouette without crimping your style.

2-4pm - League of Steam   This year's film festival features a veritable cornucopia of short but wacky adventures featuring the oddest group of ghost hunters to strap on an ectoplasmic disruptor.

4-5pm - Sherlock's Arsenal with James Romnes.   Ever wonder if those movies are right when they depict Sherlock Holmes with various weapons? James will tell you right from wrong, and what is really in the Sherlock Canon.

5-6pm - Reading from John Longenbaugh

Saturday Evening

PT Shorts is part of Gallery Walk and is a collaboration between Key City Public Theatre, the City of Port Townsend and the Brass Screw Confederacy. These readings are presented at the Cotton Building (607 Water St) and admission is free to the public.

7:30-8:30pm Readings from his latest steampunk novel by J.R. Boyett.

11am-noon - Aerstats, a lecture and discussion with J.R. Boyett on his newest Steampunk novel, and the ideas which led to its world and technology.

noon-1pm - Early Aircraft with Jonathan Garrigues.   Hear about the early attempts at flight with heavier-than-air craft, and their transformation during the 1914-1918 War!
