The Crow Quill Night Owls

Saturday Night's Vaudeville Show

The Crow Quill Night Owls are a band that plays jug band, jazz, and string band music of the 1920's and 1930's. they were formed in 2007 by guitarist Kit "Stymee" Stovepipe and tenor banjoist Windy City Alex. they've since added Baylin Adahere on washtub bass. the group fluctuates from a duo to a six person band and often features members of other bands in similar genres.

Neal Town Stephenson is an American writer known for his works of speculative fiction. Difficult to categorize, his novels have been variously referred to as science fiction, historical fiction, cyberpunk, and postcyberpunk. Other labels such as 'baroque' often appear.

The Diamond Age: Or, A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer is a postcyberpunk novel by Neal Stephenson. It is to some extent a science fiction bildungsroman, focused on a young girl named Nell, and set in a future world in which nanotechnology affects all aspects of life. The novel deals with themes of education, social class, ethnicity, and the nature of artificial intelligence.

Gypsy Swing and cool tones. Our ensemble consists of a violin, two guitars and a string bass. It specializes in the music from the 30s and 40s , featuring well-known and rare compositions by Django and Stephane (and other composers) like "Nuages, Ultra Fox,Swing 42, Stompin' at Decca, Bouncin' Around, Djangology, Oriental Shuffle, Minor Swing", just to mention a few.

Diana Vick is vice chair, creative director, and co-founder of Steamcon ®, one of the oldest and largest steampunk conventions in the world, which is held in Seattle WA in the fall. She will present a lecture about where to look, what to look for and how to put it all together for a look that works. From everyday steam to steamy heroine, you can find everything you need if you look. How to use the main archetypes to figure out how to dress. Are you an aviator, an explorer, or a mad scientist?

  

The Shadow Sprites, a Depth-Defying performance

Professor Thaddeus presents "The Shadow Sprites, a Depth-Defying performance". A trio of dancers who will use the science of stereocular vision to literally project their shadows into the audience. 3D glasses will be provided. The Shadow Sprites are Nala Walla, Lauren Day, and Camille Hildebrandt. Technical director is Thaddeus Jurczynski.
